RENEE ROSNES (b. 1962). Canadian-born Renee Rosnes is always in demand as a pianist because of her individualistic style, virtuosic technique and sightreading skills honed by years of classical training. An EMI recording artist with several albums on Blue Note (with sidemen including, Joe Henderson, Wayne Shorter, Nicholas Payton, Ron Carter, Christian McBride and Jack DeJohnette), her compositions are also featured in recordings by Native Colours, a group she co-leads. She has toured with Joe Henderson, J.J. Johnson, Wayne Shorter and with the Carnegie Hall Jazz Band on their State Department tour.
