This is Renee Rosnes' first big band arrangement, but as you will hear she is already one of the great big band arrangers, and Orion's Belt will cement her new arranging role. RENEE ROSNES (b. 1962). Canadian-born Renee Rosnes is always in demand as a pianist because of her individualistic style, virtuosic technique and sightreading skills honed by years of classical training. An EMI recording artist with several albums on Blue Note (with sidemen including, Joe Henderson, Wayne Shorter, Nicholas Payton, Ron Carter, Christian McBride and Jack DeJohnette), her compositions are also featured in recordings by Native Colours, a group she co-leads. She has toured with Joe Henderson, J.J. Johnson, Wayne Shorter and with the Carnegie Hall Jazz Band on their State Department tour.
